Our Mission
Team Mark is a dedicated sub-group of Fred's Team — the official charity running program of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Every November, our team laces up and takes on all 26.2 miles of the TCS New York City Marathon, raising critical funds for MSK's world-renowned cancer research programs.
Founded in 2018 by Mark Kourey, Tom Walsh, and a close group of friends united by a shared belief that running can change the world, FredsTeamMark has grown into a passionate community of athletes and advocates who show up year after year — not just to race, but to make a real difference in the fight against cancer. Since 2018, Team Mark has raised over $500,000 for MSK — and Fred's Team has raised over $100,000,000 since its inception in 1995.

What Our Runners Say
Running the NYC Marathon with Fred's Team Mark has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. The combination of athletic achievement and genuine impact is unlike anything else.
I joined in 2019 knowing nothing about marathons. Six years later, I've raised over $25,000 for MSK. The team support made every mile worth it.
The team dinners, the training runs, the cheering at mile 17 — this is so much more than a running team. It's a family.
