Runner in 2024

I am a native Mainer and current Boston resident working for a management consulting firm. I graduated from Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore about three years ago. This is my first marathon! I have been an athlete my whole life with a large focus on basketball. Since graduating, I have taken to running as my athletic outlet, and have considered what it would be like to run a marathon for quite some time...

I learned about Team Mark through my childhood friend, Matty, who ran the marathon the past two years. When he told me about the cause, I couldn't help but jump at the opportunity to join. My Uncle Mike passed from pancreatic cancer shortly after I graduated from college in 2021. He took the role of a grandfather to me when I didn't have one, and a father to many through his role coaching rugby at the University of Rhode Island. Navigating his severe health issues throughout COVID was extremely complicated, but it seemed as though maintaining his strength and positive mindset was easy (he was a coach after all). The ability to accomplish what would be my greatest athletic achievement while supporting a cause that means so much to my family is truly an honor and I am so excited to be involved!
